Terms of Service

Welcome to Mikci. By creating an account or using Mikci (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. What Mikci is

Mikci is a quiet money companion. You may explore with fictional sample financial activity, or connect your own financial activity through Plaid so Mikci can learn your spending rhythm. When something meaningfully changes, Mikci may leave a letter that asks if you want to make one small measurable Promise. You decide. Mikci then checks the result through the activity it is using and may write a result letter. Completed stories can live in Memory Vault. Mikci may also include an optional community feature called Moments. Mikci does not hold or move money, and it does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice.

2. Eligibility & accounts

You must be at least 16 years old (or the age of digital consent in your country) to use Mikci. Signup may be invite-only, and email verification may be required. Optional multi-factor authentication (email code or authenticator app) is available to help protect your account. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly at support@mikci.com if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by attempting to breach security, access other users' private data, reverse engineer the Service, upload unlawful, harassing, spam, or harmful content, or use Mikci for any illegal purpose. We may hide or remove content, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Your content

You retain ownership of the letters, Promises, memories, Moments posts, notes, and other content you create. For private content, we process it only to provide the Service to you. If you share to Moments, you grant Mikci a license to host, display, and distribute that shared content to other Mikci users as needed to operate Moments, and to moderate it (including hiding or deleting it). You can edit, export, or delete your content at any time where the product allows.

5. Moments

Moments Feed. Posts you share (text captions, optional photos, likes, and supportive notes) are visible to other signed-in Mikci users unless you remove them or we hide them after a report or review. You may choose to post anonymously (your display name is hidden from other users; we still know which account posted). Do not post content that is unlawful, abusive, or harmful. You may report posts; we may hide or delete content and suspend accounts.

Moderation access. Your private letters, Promise results, memories, and other personal app content are encrypted at rest and are not browsed as a feed by our team. The community content our team may review for safety and moderation is Moments (posts, photos, notes, and reports).

6. Financial connections & advice

You may explore Mikci with fictional sample financial activity (including sample bills and payday) before connecting your own accounts. Sample activity is not your real financial information and is never mixed with Plaid data. To observe your own spending rhythm and evaluate Promises based on your activity, connect through Plaid. Connecting Plaid replaces sample activity with your real synced activity for that account. Mikci does not hold, move, or transfer money. Mikci does not provide financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. A Promise is a private intention and optional accountability practice, not a financial product.

7. Mikci Personality

You may choose a Mikci Personality that controls how Mikci's letters and messages sound (for example Calm & Chill, Cool Friend, Tough Love, or Attitude). Personality affects communication style only. It does not change how Promises are evaluated or whether a Promise was kept or missed. The Attitude personality may include strong language or occasional profanity; Mikci asks you to confirm before enabling it. You can change your personality anytime in account settings.

8. Availability & changes

We work hard to keep Mikci available and accurate, but the Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We may add, change, or remove features, and may perform maintenance that temporarily interrupts access.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mikci and its team are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for choices you make based on information in the Service. Your Promises and commitments are your own. Content shared by other users in Moments is their responsibility; we do not guarantee its accuracy or appropriateness.

10. Termination

You may stop using Mikci and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially violate these Terms. Upon deletion, your personal data is removed as described in the Privacy Policy, including Moments posts, notes, likes, and reports associated with your account.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you within the app or by email. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
